It’s not a game…

Pretty (not her real name) is a 7 year old orphan and she has had exactly four chess lessons. She is showing astounding planning and problem solving skills and is beating children double her age and more. But stuck in rural Obanjeni with no family or money and limited access to any form of education, her future looks bleak…
Hi, I’m Karen and I want to let you know what a wonderful job Common Threadz is doing with the orphans in Obanjeni. Thanks to (among others) an orphan mentorship programme, a feeding programme, a chess club and an English reading programme, children like Pretty do have a brighter furture to look forward to. Pretty will grow up feeling that she is cared for, fed and clothed. Pretty will have role models to guide her and she will know that she is special.
We are not just playing a game here…help Common Threadz to make the difference in these children’s lives as they work hand in hand with Mamma Fikile and friends.
